The BAR is a fully automatic rifle limited only to the Automatic Rifleman of the U.S Marines as the primary weapon of the class. It is available by default to the Automatic Rifleman class. The BAR itself is an LMG but has the mobility of a rifle. But the Japanese were outclassed by American SMGs and semi-auto rifles so I can understand why they did this. The M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR) is a Light Machine Gun featured in Red Orchestra 2s expansion Rising Storm. I also agree with his point about weapons being balanced and not realistic. The game also takes away many of the elements of a traditional HUD, like an ammo counter, forcing players to remember, or manually check, the approximate number of rounds that are left in the gun’s magazine. Guns behave realistically, with bullet drop and spin taken into account. I'll join a server with 50-100ms ping on the browser but there's still quite a bit of server lag and my in-game ping fluctuates way too much (usually from 120-180 whereas most other games are around 50ms or less). Rising Storm/Red Orchestra 2 is a realistic first-person shooter. Latency also still seems to be an issue on 64 player servers. It's annoying zooming in with your scope and having a bush pop out of nowhere. I'm seeing more texture pop-in but that may be because there's so much more foliage. The Japanese voice actors also aren't terrible like I was afraid of. The maps are much better (imo), the new weapons are fun, and the gameplay is about the same. If you didn't like RO2 you probably won't like RS. Unlike a clan ladder or other online tournament, World at War players will participate in a simulated war, complete with commanding officers, divisions, and a grand strategy map showing the progress of the war from week to week. We have Post Scriptum, Red Orchestra 2 / Rising Storm and Forgotten Hope 2 servers. Definitely liking this more than regular RO2.įlogger, in the main RO2 thread, summed it up pretty well though. What WaW is: World at War is a tournament-style campaign.
